Parties
- WAYWAY , a company incorporated under the laws of Singapore with its registered address at Wayway Technology Pte Ltd (UEN: 201625069W), 1 Jalan Kilang Timor #06-01, Pacific Tech Centre, Singapore 159303, Phone Number : (65) 63780588, (“the Platform”);
- The individuals who access and use the WAYWAY platform/service (“Users”).
- Each of WAYWAY and the Users shall be referred to herein as a “Party” and collectively as the “Parties”.
Background and Purpose
- WAYWAY is a company incorporated under the laws of Singapore which operates an online transportation marketplace platform known as the WAYWAY Platform through its website at https://wayway.sg/ w and WAYWAY mobile application.
- This Privacy Policy governs the collection and use of personal data by WAYWAY through the WAYWAY Platform, website, and any related mobile applications from all individuals granted user accounts to access the WAYWAY Platform (known as “Users”).
- This Privacy Policy and the collection and use of personal data from Users is governed by the laws of Singapore.
- Definitions
- Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
- User, you refers to an individual who accesses or uses WAYWAY mobile application and website.
- Wayway refers to the WAYWAY application, website and technology platform collectively.
- Riders refers to persons who seek transportation services through WAYWAY
- Drivers refers to persons who provide transportation services to Riders through WAYWAY.
- Collection, use refer to the act of gathering or handling personal data.
- Disclose, share refer to the act of releasing, transferring or otherwise communicating personal data to another party.
- Consent refers to freely given, specific, informed indication of wishes by which a data subject agrees to the processing of personal data.
- Data subject refers to the identified or identifiable person to whom personal data relates.
- Information Collection
- WAYWAY collects the following personal data from Users directly:
- Name, email address, phone number and other contact details provided during sign-up for a User account.
- Location data when Users avail transportation services through the WAYWAY Platform.
- Financial information such as payment details and transaction records when Users make payments through the WAYWAY Platform.
- WAYWAY also collects personal data about Users from the following sources:
- Third party services integrated with the WAYWAY Platform which provide additional User profile attributes and preferences.
- Business partners with whom WAYWAY shares services to enable additional features for Users.
- WAYWAY and its third party service providers use cookies and similar technologies to collect the following personal data:
- Browser and device details
- Information on how Users use and interact with the WAYWAY Platform
- Users have a choice to disable or reject cookies by modifying their browser settings however this may affect their user experience or functionality of certain services.
- WAYWAY collects and uses personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide the transportation marketplace and related services through the WAYWAY Platform.
- To communicate with Users, respond to inquiries and provide customer support.
- To conduct analytics and data analysis to evaluate and improve the WAYWAY Platform and services.
- Name, contact details and location data are mandatory for Users to avail basic services of the WAYWAY Platform. All other personal data sought are optional.
- WAYWAY will only collect personal data about a child below the age of 16 years from a parent or legal guardian of such child who can consent on the child’s behalf.
- How Information is Used
- WAYWAY INC may use personal data collected from Users for the following purposes:
- To facilitate transportation bookings and services between Riders and Drivers through the WAYWAY Platform.
- To process payments for services rendered through the WAYWAY Platform.
- To communicate with Users about their accounts or the status of requested services through the WAYWAY Platform.
- WAYWAY may also use personal data collected to:
- Better understand how Users use WAYWAY services so WAYWAY can enhance and develop new features.
- Perform data analytics and research on usage patterns to develop marketing strategies.
- WAYWAY is permitted to use personal data to comply with applicable laws, including laws related to anti-money laundering.
- WAYWAY may use personal data to send Users promotional information about WAYWAY or partner services and products, provided the User has consented to receiving such marketing communications. Users have the ability to opt-out of receiving marketing communications at any time.
- WAYWAY is permitted to use personal data as needed to detect, prevent and address technical issues, fraud, or criminal activity, and to exercise or defend legal claims.
- Sharing of Personal Information
- Consent for Sharing. The Company will not share a User’s personal information with any third party without obtaining the User’s consent, except where required by applicable law.
- Service Providers. The Company may disclose a User’s personal information to third party service providers that perform certain functions or services on the Company’s behalf related to the Platform. This includes payment processors, information technology providers, communication providers, data storage and back-up providers. Any such disclosure of personal information to a service provider will be subject to binding contractual obligations on the service provider to safeguard the personal information as strictly confidential and to process it only for the purposes of providing the services.
- Business Transfers. In the event the Company goes through a business transition such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, a User’s personal information will likely be among the transferred assets. The User will be notified via prominent notice on the Website or by email of any change in ownership or uses of his personal information, as well as any choices the User may have regarding his personal information.

The Company reserves the right to access, use, preserve or disclose any information available to it if it has a good faith belief that such access, use, disclosure or preservation is reasonably necessary to: (a) comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request; (b) enforce this Privacy Policy and the Company’s rights, including investigation of potential violations hereof; (c) detect, prevent or otherwise address illegal or prohibited activities or fraud, security or technical issues; or (d) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of the Company, its Users or the public as required or permitted by law.

- Users acknowledge and agree that WAYWAY is not responsible or liable for:
- the availability or contents of external websites and platforms; or
- the privacy practices of external websites and platforms.
- Users should review the applicable terms and policies, including privacy policies, of external websites and platforms before engaging with them or providing any personal data. WAYWAY does not endorse and is not responsible or liable for any content, advertising, products or other materials available on or through such external websites and platforms.
- Security
- Technical and organisational measures. The Company shall implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect Users’ personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access.
- Secure storage. Users’ personal data shall be stored on secure servers and access shall be restricted to authorised personnel with passwords.
- Encrypted transmission. When Users transmit personal data to the Company via the Platform or its website, the transmission of data shall be encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS) or other secure protocols.
- Data retention. The Company shall retain Users’ personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected or as required by the Personal Data Protection Act 2012.
- Security breach notification. In the event of a breach of security leading to the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure of, or access to, Users’ personal data, the Company shall notify the affected Users without undue delay.
- Access and Correction
- Users shall have the right to request access to the personal data the Company holds about them. Upon receiving a verified request from a User, the Company shall provide the User with a copy of the personal data within thirty (30) days.
- Users shall have the right to request corrections or updates to be made to their personal data should they be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading or not up-to-date. Upon receiving a verified request from a User, the Company shall correct the personal data as soon as reasonably practicable.
- Users may make a request for access or correction to their personal data by contacting the Company through the contact details provided in this Privacy Policy.
- The Company may request additional details or proof of identity from the User before providing access to or making corrections to the User’s personal data.
- Unless the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, the Company shall not charge a fee to the User for making a request to access or correct the User’s personal data.
- Children
- WAYWAY does not knowingly collect any personal data from children under the age of 13 years. The WAYWAY mobile application and website is not directed at individuals under the age of 13 years.
- If WAYWAY discovers that a registered user is under the age of 13 years, it will promptly delete that user’s account and any personal data collected upon such discovery.
- Unregistered children under the age of 13 years are advised to seek their parent or guardian’s permission before providing any personal data to WAYWAY .
- Parents or legal guardians of children under the age of 13 years may review, have corrected or deleted, or refuse to permit the further collection or use of the child’s personal data by contacting WAYWAY using the contact details provided in this Privacy Policy.
- WAYWAY will obtain verifiable parental consent for any collection, use or disclosure of personal data from children under the age of 13 years, except in certain circumstances permitted by law.
- Changes to this Privacy Policy
- Right to amend. WAYWAY reserves the right to amend or update this Privacy Policy at any time by publishing the amended version on the WAYWAY website and mobile applications.
- Notice of amendments. Users will be notified of any amendments to this Privacy Policy through notices on the WAYWAY website homepage and mobile applications upon log-in.
- Continued use constitutes acceptance. By continuing to access or use the WAYWAY Platform after any amendments to this Privacy Policy, Users are deemed to have acknowledged and agreed to such amendments.
- Discontinuation of use. Users who do not agree with the amendments should discontinue use of WAYWAY website and mobile application
- Effective date. Each version of the Privacy Policy will be dated with the effective date on the first page.
- Archived copies. WAYWAY will maintain archived copies of previous versions of the Privacy Policy if any personal data collected under a previous version remains in its possession.
